How We Pick Products
The full selection desk lives in our company and member area. What is public is the method: three steps, two coordinate systems, and every score carries its evidence.
How we pick products: three steps, none skipped
A product with incomplete records produces hollow conclusions. CAS, HS code, uses, upstream/downstream, plants, deal records — every gap is filled before the next step.
Two coordinate systems score every product: is it worth doing (medical need, treatment landscape, competition, IP, technical barriers, cost), and when to start (patent-expiry window).
Scores roll up into two lists: products to co-develop with plants (fill capability gaps) and products to push (with sales ammo behind them). Anything under-served by data stays on the fill-first list — the algorithm never promotes it.
Two coordinate systems
The qualitative frame follows Dr. Cheng Juan's product-analysis approach (six dimensions); the timing frame comes from our own patent-cliff timeline. Every score carries its evidence.

Why these picks — not a black box
Markets differ: India buys intermediates, the EU/US buys APIs and finished forms. Regional epidemiology and registration paths shape each recommendation.
Products are matched by therapeutic area — endocrine, anti-infective, oncology, CNS… area first, molecule second.
Core-patent expiry is the starting gun. Expired and near-expiry products come first — with the caveat that polymorph/process/formulation patents and extensions are excluded, and we say so.
What a scorecard looks like (example)
Example — shows the scorecard layout only; not data for any real product.
In the real board, every score expands to show its evidence. A score without provenance never makes the table — that is a hard rule in our internal selection desk.
